MASERU — In celebration of a decade of their existence and success, local medical aid company Mamoth will have a funwalk on November 3.
The walk will start at Maseru Club via Mpilo Boulevard to the main traffic circle down Seputana to the Maseru Industrial then back to Maseru Club grounds, passing by the American Embassy.
According to Itumeleng Pitso of Mamoth, walking is the simplest and most convenient way of exercising.
It strengthens the bones, maintains weight and conditions the heart and lungs.
“As a medical aid provider, Mamoth’s priority is to encourage sustainability of healthy living through nutrition and exercising. We are having the funwalk to lure people into practicing that.
“Being consistent in walking exercise routine is one of the most important factors in developing a healthy physical activity programme.
“Researches show that people who exercise outlive those who don’t by many years.
“On that day, we will have a public figure from South Africa who will be addressing the issue of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
“There will also be testimonies from people who are using our medical aid,” she explained.
There will be prizes to be awarded to the first people who complete the walk.
The first male and female to get to Maseru Club will be awarded a six-month gym membership, the second duo will be presented with a full body massage hamper and those in third place will receive a nutritional breakfast pack.
Pitso stressed that this is also part of the company’s marketing strategy.
“Mamoth is also trying to attract people into buying membership.
“It is very important for one to have a medical aid for you will never know when you will need a medical attention and how much it will cost. Mamoth covers all that.
“When we started operating way back in 2003, we only had two clients.
“But now we have close to thirty companies which are members. We also have individuals and students who are studying in South Africa among our clientele,” Pitso said.
Mamoth intends to be the leading medical aid provider in Lesotho, simplifying Basotho’s lives.
