Vocal Waves off to SA

MASERU — Maseru Vocal Waves, one of Lesotho’s biggest choirs, leaves the country tomorrow for the Gauteng Choral Music Show on Saturday.

Maseru Vocal Waves will share the stage with SABC Choristers and Soweto Melodic Voices at the show, set for Zola Methodist Church in Soweto.

Vocal Waves held a show last Sunday at Sefika High School as part of its preparations for the Gauteng gala.

Tsietsi Polane, public relations officer for Maseru Vocal Waves, said the choir will be leaving the country tomorrow night.

“The Sunday music show at Sefika High School is dedicated to our supporters before the choir leaves for the Gauteng Choral Music Show,” Polane said last week.

“We are going to share the stage with SABC Choristers and Soweto Melodic Voices on May 2.”

Polane said the purpose of the competition was to foster friendship between the two countries’ choirs.

“We basically want to create friendship between Vocal Waves and SABC Choristers,” he said.

The choir will return home on Sunday.
