Trio to face disciplinary committee

by Lesotho Times

MASERU –– Three Likuena players who were kicked out of training camp for allegedly sneaking out to drink alcohol will face a disciplinary committee tomorrow.

The players –– Thapelo Mokhehle, Motlalepula Mofolo and Teboho Sehloho –– will appear before a panel which will pass judgment on the player’s immediate international future. The three sneaked out of camp ahead of Lesotho’s friendly match against Zimbabwe last week.

Speaking to the Lesotho Times yesterday Likuena team manager Paballo Makakule confirmed the hearing would take place.

“The players will be appearing on Friday in front of a disciplinary committee,” Makakule said.

Makakule condemned the behaviour of the trio.

“It is dangerous for the side. But the players will have seen from our stance that we will not condone such behaviour,” said Makakule.

Asked what punishments would be meted out Makakule said: “There is a set of rules that each national association has and procedures will be followed.

“I’m not the one who will decide and it depends on what the coach (Zavisa Milosavljevic) wants as well,” he added.

“If the players are still needed they will continue to play for Likuena.”

“I would suggest that the players be denied their per diems for away trips to show them that their actions were unacceptable,” Makakule said.
