ORGANISERS of the Winter Madness pencilled for Club De Fasto on 30 July 2016 have allayed safety concerns over the venue, saying security would be tight at the Matala Phase II-based establishment.

The Winter Madness will be headlined by Lesedi FM’s DJ Finzo and is organised by Solo Promotions.

Earlier this month, scores of Club De Fasto patrons were severely assaulted by heavily-armed assailants with property worth thousands of maloti destroyed during the melee. The owner of the club told the Lesotho Times’ sister publication Sunday Express he believed the assailants had been on a revenge mission after one of them was assaulted.

However, Solo Promotions’ Solomon Lefoka told the Weekender this week they had put in place measures to ensure the safety of revellers.

“We heard the assailants had a motive for the attack and it was unlikely they would come back. Apart from that, Solo Promotions events are always secure. So we assure revellers that they will be safe on the night and the police will also be around to ensure that all is well,” he said.

Lefoka said Winter Madness had been held annually in Mohale’s Hoek and Quthing and they decided to hold it in Maseru.

“Winter Madness is an annual event held in the southern districts. Since it is already known in the southern region, we decided to broaden our sphere to Maseru and give revellers a good time.”

He said DJ Finzo will share the stage with Stone Candi from Bloemfontein and Lesotho’s Phacks DJ, Shabba Da DJ, DJ Hoasy, Master W, Nexxy Pro, Mtsusi and Mapzen DJ among others.

“DJ Finzo is a close friend of mine who has been on the Winter Madness line-up on many occasions and has never disappointed,” said Lefoka, adding that the disc spinner is renowned for his kwaito and classic house music mixes.
