Prime Minister Thomas Thabane, Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation Minister Thesele ‘Maseribane, Home Affairs Minister Joang Molapo, Development Planning Minister Moeketsi Majoro, Law and Constitutional Affairs Minister Haae Phoofolo, Government Secretary Moahloli Mphaka and other senior government officials leave for Ethiopia today to attend the 24th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU).
Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing would be in charge during Dr Thabane’s absence, according to Mr Mphaka.
The summit, scheduled for Addis Ababa, would be held under the theme, ‘Year of Women’s Empowerment and Development towards Africa’s Agenda 2063’.
Health-related issues, particularly the Ebola epidemic, peace, security, development and administrative related issues with regards the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), would also be discussed at the summit.
