Swallows, Liphakoe renew rivalry

MASERU — Former premier league clubs, Swallows and Liphakoe now playing in the A Division Southern Stream will renew their rivalry when the two teams lock horns in a league match in Mazenod this weekend.
Liphakoe who are among favourites to fight for promotion to the elite league had a bad start to the new campaign losing 2-1 at home to Roma Boys.

The Quthing based team lost some of their key players during the pre-season after Bantu paid them M30 000 for their talented striker, Tsebang Lebata while Nkoto Masoabi joined Lioli for a transfer fee believed to be in the same region.
Masoabi is already proving to be the best buy for Lioli as he leads the premier league goal scoring chats with five strikes in three matches.
Like Liphakoe, Swallows have not had a good start to the new campaign and were held to a goalless draw by Sky Battalion FC.
Another interesting tie in the Southern stream will see Kick4Life hosting Rovers, another former premier league side.
The University team had to once again live with the heartbreak of missing out on promotion in July after losing out to Nyenye Rovers in the playoffs.
Kick4Life, mentored by legendary Matlalepula Majoro cannot be taken for granted as they have a group of experienced players.

Rovers have already lost one of their experienced players — former youth international, Phoka Matete, who has joined Linare for a second spell with the Hlotse based team.
The University team started the new campaign on a high note registering a 1-0 home victory over Mountain Shades and will be gunning for their second successive win of the season.

All the three Roma sides playing in the A division registered victories in their opening matches.
The first weekend of the Northern Stream league also had a spring of surprises as newly A Division side CCX registered a shock 3-1 win over Sefothafotha who also lost on promotion in the playoffs in July.
The Police side have parted ways with their long time coach Mohau Mokhoromeng.
Majantja who are hoping for a return to top flight football this season will be tested by A Division rookies, Mountain Shades, in an encounter to be played in Mohale’s Hoek.
