LOCAL retail outlet, Winner Star Supermarket, won a brand-new Mahindra Bolero valued at M300 000 during a Sefalana Cash & Carry contest yesterday.
Winner Star was one of the 10 finalists in the Sefalana Car Giver competition which ran from 19 February to 6 April 2024.
The 10 finalists included retail outlets and individuals who buy from the Station Industrial Area situated Sefalana wholesale.
Sefalana is a major retail brand in Lesotho known for its reasonable prices and quality goods.
The finalists contested in a raffle and Winner Star became the ultimate prize winner, while others won grocery hampers.
Sefalana Marketing Manager, Dingaan Dingaan, said the car giver competition was open to every customer who buy a grocery from M1000 above or buy three and more of the UMS brands that are sold at Sefalana.
Mr Dingaan said the initiative was to give back to the customers who support the wholesaler throughout each year.
“We have various Sefalana branches in the country, but we started with this one because it’s the first branch. This is a fourth car we are giving away, as last year we gave away a Nissan MP200 and this year a Mahindra Bolero,” Mr Dingaan said.
“We are giving back to our customers and the competition is open to every customer who buys here. It is an annual prize and is a way way of showing appreciation to customers who are buying here the whole year.
“The brands who contributed to buying this car are Powerup & Win, Super White, Number 1 Mageu, Unity Products, Ace, Raid, Rainbow, Koo, Selati Sprinkle Joy, Bokomo, Colgate, Grande, Aquelle, Dolly Varden, Sasko, Spekko, Wild Island, Best Buy, Food Town, Price rite, Kotex and Beacon,” Mr Dingaan said.
However, the exuberant Winner Star representative, a Chinese national, could not express his joy as he could not communicate in either English or Sesotho.
