A MASERU restaurant, Cuban Linx is set to introduce new Sunday menu offering of different Cuban foods and beverages.
The menu was conceived is collaboration with lifestyle and marketing company, Emotiv PR with the aim of introducing a fresh, relaxed concept to the local entertainment scene dubbed Any Cuban Sunday.
The popularity of Cuban recipes derives from the tantalising manner in which Spanish and African cooking methods are blended with Caribbean influences rich in spices and flavour to reflect rich and varied cultural influences that titillate the taste buds.
Emotiv PR representative, Lineo Phafane said “since the place is called Cuban Linx, the rationale is to celebrate the elements of the Cuban culture and achieve something that people can easily associate with the joint”.
“The plan is to offer different Cuban menus from food to beverages and music. When we talk about Cuban cuisine we cannot fail to mention its delicious cocktails and this being the pilot session, we will start with the Mojito cocktails which will be sold at reduced prices.”
Mojito cocktails are one of the famous Cuban drinks made from rum, sparkling water, sugar, lemon juice, ice and mint.
“The event will offer a relaxed setup during the day with smooth Latin sounds belting out from the speakers on a lazy Sunday. The idea is to have this concept on a fortnightly basis but all will depend on the reception people will give it and we will later on introduce other Cuban concepts,” she said.
The organisers are also open to suggestions to improve the concept.
