MASERU — ‘Mannana Rakotsoana last Friday walked away with M5 000 after her name was drawn in the Castle Milk Stout promotion held by Lesotho Brewing Company.
Rakotsoana, a final year student at the National Teachers’ Training College in Maseru, said she was shocked when she received a call from the brewery notifying her of the prize.
“I could not believe it when I was told that I was the winner. I am really grateful for the prize,” said Rakotsoana as she was presented with a cheque for M5 000 in the city.
She said the money was a God-send as she was already planning to use it for her graduation party next month.
Lesotho Brewing Company national sales manager, Lechesa Tikiso, said the main aim of the promotion was to give back to the community and thank it for its support.
“We have been running promotions in the months of June and August where people have been winning up to M1 000 in cash prizes,” Tikiso said.
He said at least 200 businesses participated in the promotion with winners getting hampers.
“At the end of each month we held eight regional promotions and these prizes brought in a little change to the lives of those who won and their families,” said Tikiso.
He said the company had so far handed out M32 000 to customers during the promotions.
`Mabohlale Matsoso, who owns a tavern in Maseru, also won five beer cases.
“It is good that this promotion is considering all businesses across the country even those in the highlands which do not normally receive support from big businesses,” Matsoso said.
