POLICE have launched a manhunt for a Mafeteng man accused of being an accessory in the murdering of his friend’s uncle.
According to deputy police spokesperson Senior Inspector Lerato Motseki, the friend – Poloko Ntšalong – briefly appeared in court on 2 November this year over the murder charge.
“Poloko Ntšalong of Likhoele, Mafeteng was remanded in custody on 2 November accused of murdering his 52-year old uncle on 30 October,” she said during a press briefing this week.
“He will reappear in court on 17 November. His friend is still on the run.”
Senior Inspector Motseki said it was reported Mr Ntšalong’s father died earlier this year, with the suspect taken into the care of his now deceased uncle.
She said Mr Ntšalong was always at loggerheads with his uncle because of his disciplinary approach hence the fatal altercation.
“It is reported that on 30 October 2016, murder suspect Poloko Ntšalong and his friend attacked the former’s uncle at around 7pm. The duo fatally assaulted the uncle in front of his family.”
