THE Lesotho National Insurance Group (LNIG) has unveiled its new logo which reflects its partnership with South African insurance company, Hollard Insurance.
The company is now known as LNIG Hollard, following Hollard Insurance’s acquisition of an undisclosed majority stake in LNIG in 2017.
LNIG was established in 1977 as a wholly-owned parastatal and is one of the oldest insurance companies in Lesotho and is now the country’s leading short-term insurer.
Speaking at the unveiling of the new branding yesterday, LNIG Hollard managing director, Mpho Vumbukani, said the company’s new look comes with better services inspired by Hollard’s wealth of international expertise and LNIG’s own knowledge of the local market.
“With the LNIG’s depth of knowledge of the local insurance market and Hollard’s extensive insurance expertise, clients and partners are already enjoying and should expect more insurance solutions which relate to their needs,” Mr Vumbukani said.
He said the company would target introducing new commercial agriculture and small enterprise products to address existing market needs for economic development.
“The SME (small to medium enterprises) space and agricultural sector, which are critical for growing our local economy, are some of the areas of focus as LNIG Hollard maps the future in an impactful manner.
“Climate change is one of the key strategic challenges confronting the world now. We are keenly focused on shaping a better future for our stakeholders, and it therefore goes without saying that the climate change agenda and the broader environmental, social and governance agenda will form the bedrock of how we purposefully impact our society.”
Having previously been berated by clients who were unhappy with the company’s aged manual client database system, the company is now embracing digital technology to improve efficiency.
“LNIG Hollard has embarked on a digital transformation journey, which will in the end enable it to become more client centric and operationally efficient. It is with this vision that LNIG Hollard confidently commits to stepping boldly into our future.”
On her part, LNIG Hollard’s head of brand, Liepollo Tsekoa said: “This co-branding which manifests itself as the LNIG blue being sprinkled with the Hollard purple talks to the two great companies leveraging off each other’s strengths to provide the best insurance solutions for Basotho”.
“LNIG as a heritage brand in Lesotho having provided insurance services for over 40 years, has acquired deep insurance expertise, and understanding of the local market. Blending this experience with Hollard’s dynamic insurance expertise has provided a solid platform for our Basotho nation to benefit more from,” Ms Tsekoa said.
