STRUGGLING premier league giants Linare on Sunday walloped bottom-of-the-table Butha-Buthe Warriors 6-1 in a match played at Maputsoe DIFA Ground.
The match was only the second win for 11th-positioned Linare with their first triumph a 5-1 trumping of third-from-bottom Rovers.
Nzenze Nkulu bagged a brace with Themba Mzamane, Molefi Mosebo, Lebenya Leboela and Rethabile Selonyana completing the rout of the Butha-Buthe-based side.
Elsewhere on Sunday, the match between LDF and Bantu was cancelled before it could end after a bitter brawl between the teams’ players.
A Matšo Matebele were at that stage enjoying a 2-0 lead courtesy of a penalty and a stunning free-kick scored by Hlompho Kalake.
The match between Matlama and Sundawana as well as Likhopo and Sky Battalion did not take place as Tse Putsoa and the Red Army had their players on national duty with the national under-20 side.
On Saturday, Lioli proved their mettle with a 4-1 hammering of log leaders Kick4Life.
Impressive Tšepo Seturumane scored a brace with Tšepo Lekhooana and Tumelo Khutlang each scoring once.
Nkoto Masoabi scored the consolation goal for Kick4Life against his former side.
Despite the loss to Tse Nala, Kick4Life remain on top of the standing with 22 points while Lioli are second on 17 points with a game in hand.
Bantu are in third position with 16 points and have three games in hand having only played seven games.
The Liphakoe – LMPS encounter that was scheduled for last Saturday in Quthing was called-off as the pitch was unplayable after heavy rains.
Also on Saturday, LCS edged Rovers 2-1 in another match played at LCS Ground on Saturday.
Makara Ntaitsane and Hopolang Mohlalefi scored the three goals to hand Masheshena their third win in nine games.
The correctional service side were touted among the contenders for the league title but have had a tough season so far finding themselves in eighth position.
