MASERU – Lesotho will play Malaysia in an international friendly on September 11.
Next week’s match is another away fixture for Likuena after recent road trips to Swaziland, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
The game is part of preparations for next month’s COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup to be held in Zimbabwe. The national side began camp at Bambatha on Monday and national coach Zavisa Milosavljevic is expected to announce a travelling squad on Monday at the latest.
In the latest FIFA world ranking’s released yesterday Likuena climbed four places to 160th.
Meanwhile Lesotho’s top match officials will be tested at a high-level FIFA referees course tomorrow at Bambatha. The FIFA test will be used to select Lesotho’s panel of referees for international assignments in 2010.
The country’s top referees will be looking for an improvement on the poor results they registered at a preliminary FIFA fitness test in June where only 10 out of 30 match officials passed.
Lesotho has a quota of 10 match officials for FIFA’s 2010 referees’ panel.
