Gigs galore in month-end weekend

APRIL has been quite an eventful month where lots of entertainment events occurred around the country and this weekend, the last of the month, will be also be filled with many events which will leave revelers spoilt for choice.

THURSDAY

Victory Hall in Moshoeshoe II will host the Just for Laughs comedy night featuring several local comedians. Featured comedians include the likes of Lilaphalapha, Cura, Masapo, BSB The Comedian, Boots Washington, MSL, Tsolo, Mapena, Skaftyn, Monare and Kibiti.

Back To The City

Local rapper, Hymphatic Thabs is set to represent Lesotho at one of Africa’s biggest Hip Hop Shows at Newtown in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a festival of three stages: one surprise international act, 40 rappers, 12 DJs, 12 graffiti crews, six dance crews, Bmxers, skaters and beatboxers among others.

FRIDAY

NUL Gala Dinner

The National University of Lesotho will host a gala dinner aimed at raising funds for the institution’s developmental objectives. The event will be held at AVANI Maseru.

Gospel Festival

Qacha’s Nek Community Hall is expected to light up with performances from local Gospel sensations at an event aimed at wrapping up the Easter celebrations. There will be performances from the likes of award-winning Paul Lewake, Bokang, Marefiloe Bale, Rorisang Motsamai, Lerato Mothobi and Salem Nikelo.

Night of Soul

The Volume events outfit will host a free Jazzy soul music show at Barcelos Maseru Mall featuring Linkeng and Lala.

SATURDAY

Divine Blessing

Tanzanian Gospel music singer, Emily Dangwa will perform alongside local Gospel musicians at the Divine Blessing show at Manthabiseng Convention Centre. She will share the stage with Balopolloa Ba Morena, Serumula, VOP, First Step, Youth in Praise and Sixth Seal. 

Kaleidoscope Fashion Show

Model management outfit, House of Onyx will launch with a fashion show featuring 10 local designers such as Kermit Designs and House of Thethane as well as a number of local musicians such as Mongali and Friends Live Band, Trojan VDH, DJ Spane, DJ Lym and DJ Linah.

Botswana Invasion

The Gaborone deep House group comprising of Da S, Shimrock, Chrispin The Drummer and Cody will entertain Basotho alongside Cappello Lesotho’s resident DJs Ebonix and Thulo at an event dubbed the Botswana Invasion.

Album Showcase

Songstress, Linkeng Machema will host a listening session of her upcoming album Ngoana Mosotho at Ouh Lala Restaurant. She will be supported by performances from Tylo Parker of Invaders of Africa as well as Zagro DJs.

Clap and Tap Gospel Show

Made2Rock Entertainment will host South African Clap and Tap group, Junior Barorisi Ba Morena at Victory Hall in Moshoeshoe II. The event will see Junior Barorisi Ba Morena share the stage with local clap and Tap groups such as Balateli ba Tumelo and Rorisang Morena.

Battle of Nations

BMW Spin and drift group, Auto Slip Diff Association will battle it out in Pretoria, South Africa against spinners from Botswana, Swaziland and South Africa.

SUNDAY

KC Easter-Winter show

Pop Classic quartet, Kingdom Classics will host the sixth edition of their annual Easter-Winter show at AVANI Maseru Hotel.

International Food, Fun and Trade Fair

The Indian Association of Lesotho will host its annual fair which showcases multi-cultural cuisines. Different nationalities living in Lesotho are usually invited to showcase their traditional cuisines as well as cultures at the event which also features a fashion show.
