THABA-TSEKA — Two men from Ha Moqekela in Thaba-Tseka, Rejeleng Khalatha, 31, and Molantoa Molantoa, 44, were on Tuesday sentenced to one-year in prison or pay a fine of M1 000 each after they were convicted of stock-theft.

The court however suspended seven months or M700 for three years on condition that they do not commit a similar crime.

The court was told that the two were found in possession of three sheep which were suspected to have been stolen.

They failed to give satisfactory explanations to the police during interrogations.

Meanwhile, the same court sentenced Thapelo Mohlalisi, 35, and Mahlomola Mohlalisi, 27, from Lesobeng to 18 months in prison or to pay a fine of M1 800 for stock-theft.

The court however suspended M1 500 or a year and five months on condition that the two are not convicted of a similar offence.

The two were found in possession of three sheep but failed to produce any documents to account for them. — Lena.
