Flea market to open at Maseru Club

MASERU — A local marketing company says it will open a flea market at the Maseru Club ground next Saturday.
Seeng Monyane, a representative of the advertising agency Morgan Rosso Group, said the flea market will give Basotho a chance to do business differently while saving costs.
“At a flea market business people are able to make more profits unlike when they operate from a rented business office where they pay rent every month,” Monyane said.
“There are over 200 stalls available for individuals, excluding chairs and tables that can be charged at an extra cost.”
He said business people wishing to take up space at the market will be categorised into arts, crafts, car section, kiddies’ entertainment, food court, furniture, clothing, accessories and furniture.
Monyane said the flea market is the first of many to be opened by the group.
The company says it offers flea market services to individuals wishing to sell their products.
Entrance into the flea market is free for the public.
Letsoela Mofolisa, a director at the company, said they had received a positive response from the market as many people had expressed a wish to bring their products for sale.
“Even people who are working get a chance to get extra cash as they can operate a one-day business that can give them a quick profit,” Mofolisa said.
He said when they established the online marketing website they wanted to offer their clients something different.
“However the response we have received from business people is not what we expected as they are not used to this model of advertising so they are a little bit hesitant as they don’t understand the product itself,” Mofolisa said.
“Business people think having a website for their business already advertises their business yet they also need to advertise their businesses online.”
