MASERU — With the festive season approaching, local music stable K.O.L will launch their debut all-star compilation titled K.O.L Combo Production on Saturday at a popular joint, Litaleng.
K.O.L’s artiste, manager and musician, Tebello “Lily” Motebang, told the Weekender that the show aims to introduce the first-ever CD and DVD combo by K.O.L artistes and give their fans a chance of interacting with them.
“The K.O.L Masquerade Combo party will erupt with our artistes mingling with their supporters for them to know each other personally and comment on the music we produce.
“We will have an open-mic session later whereby our artistes will be performing songs appearing on the mixtape.
“We will then give those people who wish to be signed by K.O.L the chance of exploring their music talent on stage.
“Our management will then select those that have what it takes to be part of our family,” she said.
She made it clear that there is no specific line-up or special appearances as they are basically doing it for their fans.
It is set to be an annual event if this one succeeds.
The 15-track, 10-video compilation features all K.O.L artistes, both old and new.
It comprises music from SAMA-award winner Dunamis, newly popular teenage group Ghetto I’s, Devfoe, Metal Jacket, Chocolate Soul, Black Ink with Lily herself included.
She continued: “We are going to give our artistes equal exposure as we are a family and no one is greater than the other.”
“K.O.L is all about extracting and marketing local talent, so we are passionate about ensuring that everyone who wishes to exude his capabilities gets that chance.
“We want our movement to expand and give the rest of the world a taste of what our beloved country has to offer, the best of Lesotho’s music”, said Motebang.
