THE fourth edition of Catch a Vibe breathed fresh air into the local entertainment scene by bringing forth the much-needed variety at Setsoalle Park in Maseru in Saturday.
The event exuded a laid-back setup with calm music that was played complemented by board games to help people interact.
This was the first Catch a Vibe event after a three-month winter break as the event is suitable for outdoors.
Catch a Vibe was started by photographer Sehlabaka Rampeta also knows as SG and Naleli Lesala well known as DJ Dastarr who thought of infusing music and fashion in an environment where revelers can dress up and listen to good music in a relaxed setting.
For the first time, the event collaborated with a fashion brand The fabric who displayed their clothes and also invited sneaker collector, Khojane Lepholisa, to display his collection.
Dastarr said they were excited about the success of the fourth edition labeling it their best since inception.
“We have had challenges with different venues which we chose in the past but we are happy with Setsoalle Park because the outcome was magnificent,” Dastarr said.
“We are in discussions with my team on the direction that we want to take next year in terms of the dates since we held the shows randomly this year.”
The fabric era’s creative director, Sobukwe Mapefane, said their collaboration with Catch a Vibe helped them to promote their brand as the event was an infusion of fashion and music.
He said although the collaboration was the first, there would be more to follow which would be more memorable.
Mapefane said the idea behind their collaboration was to create a different feel and for revelers to get a taste of good music while at the same time getting exposure to fashion trends.
“We want to build a bridge between music and fashion and give people a chance to have a good time,” Mapefane said.
