THREE Bokamoso Ladies basketball club players have joined South Africa’s Basketball National League (BNL) side, Free State Golden Warriors.
Mookho Ntebe, Nkhethuoa Makhorole and Relebohile Lebatla.
The BNL 2021 season is expected to start either in August and September.
According to a source close to the move, the trio is still in the country but is already part of the side’s plans.
“It is true that the said players have joined the Free State team,” the sources said.
“They are already in the team’s final squad which was announced recently for the upcoming BNL campaign. What is left is just the transfer formalities.
“They have even been given the team’s training programme. Because some of them are still working, they will not be strictly based in South Africa but will travel whenever they have matches.”
However, Bokamoso coach Samuel Ntšekhe could neither confirm nor deny the reports. He said his team was yet to receive any formal communication from the Free State team.
“We can’t confirm anything now because we haven’t received any official communication from any team regarding the players.
“Once we get such communication, we will share it,” Ntšekhe told the Lesotho Times this week.
At Free State Warriors, the trio will be joining Bokamoso Alumni star Bokang Pharela who joined the side in March as well as Lerotholi Polytechnic player, Nako Mafube, who joined last month. Pharela and Mafube are playing for the Free State Warriors males’ team.
