LCS’ new acquisition Diutlwileng Boikanyo says he is enjoying life at his new club and hopes to win the league.
The left footed attacking midfielder joined Masheshena from Lioli at the beginning of the 2020/21 Vodacom Premier League season after ending his two-year stint with the Teyateyaneng outfit.
When the league was suspended last month, LCS were third in the 16-team league table with 10 points after registering three wins and a draw from four matches.
Boikanyo told the Lesotho Times this week this week that he was settling in well at his new club and was happy with his progress so far.
“It wasn’t an easy move but I am happy because I was settling in well within the squad,” Boikanyo said.
“It is a different environment from what I was used to but I am loving it and my fellow teammates are have welcomed me.”
He admitted however, that the current break might disrupt his rhythm and the team’s momentum but said he was confident that they have ample quality in the team to push for the title.
“We started well but were unfortunate that the break was imposed when we never expected it. It might indeed affect our momentum especially when we don’t even know how long it will be. However, I believe we have a team that is capable to challenge for honors. For now, we can’t talk much because it is still early but I am confident.”
He also conceded that he still has a lot of work to do but said the starting point would be becoming a regular in the team.
“Like I have said, there is too much quality here but I am determined to fight for my place in the team. We have been given a programme to follow during the break so that we don’t struggle when the football resumes,” Boikanyo said.
