MASERU — The organisers of the first Annual Kome Caves Beer and Glamping Festival, Tangerine Inc and Motsamai Executive Travel, are determined to educate and entertain festival goers about the different aspects of beer!
A lot of people associate beer with only drinking, but believe it or not it has over 100 uses which some apply to everyday life; and one of the best ways to use beer is to cook with it, yes cook with beer.
One of the main attractions of the Festival will be the Food and Beer Pairing Tent where the Award-winning Chef Ska Moteane will demonstrate how to make some mouth-watering dishes using beer.
She has creatively made a number of recipes where one of the main ingredients used is beer.
These recipes are simple, anyone can try them. Best of all, all the ingredients are easily accessible locally. All these have been put together in a charming little cookbook which all the Festival goers can acquire and go have fun cooking up a storm at home.
Also featured in the cookbook is ‘Masumu’, a tasty tangy beer-cocktail, which will be a hit even to non-beer drinkers.
The Kome Caves Beer and Glamping Festival organisers have made sure they cater for everyone; different tastes and different lifestyles.
Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available to revellers who prefer such.
And the Food Market, with its wonderful array of meats, spit braais, burgers and more will also cater for non-meat eaters with scrumptious vegetarian meals, burgers, quiches and more.
Cold thirst quenching lemonade, and khemere will be available too; and for a taste of tradition, festival goers can indulge in ‘motoho’ and traditional beer.
As food and beverages will be on sale, none from outside will be allowed at the festival grounds. Weapons will also not be allowed.
Promotional campaigns are still running on full steam; a number of tickets have been won, and more are yet to be given away.
