MASERU — Basotho Enterprise Development Corporation (Bedco) will on Saturday host friendly games with its counterparts from Botswana and Swaziland at Machabeng College Grounds.
Bedco staff, representatives from Swaziland Enterprise Development Corporation (Sedco) and Local Enterprise Agency (LEA) from Botswana will compete in different sporting fraternities that include soccer, netball and athletics.
Bedco Director of Corporation Services, Mpho Nthethe, told the Lesotho Times that the games are intended to strengthen the existing relations between the three partners from the three countries with regard to the development of small and medium enterprises. “The weekend games form part of our international corporate and will help strengthen the friendship between the three countries,” Nthethe said.
She said Botswana is a little ahead of the other counterparts as far as development in their country is concerned and they will get a chance to learn from them.
“Botswana (LEA) is more successful than Lesotho and Swaziland on issues relating to the development of small and medium enterprises, and being together during the games will create a platform for the countries to share their experiences”.
Nthethe said they plan to make games an annually tournament to keep networking on a regular basis.
Due to lack of funds, the games were last held in 2002
