Bantu capitalise on Lioli draw

Second-placed Bantu edged Sundawana 1-0 in Butha-Buthe on Sunday to narrow Lioli’s lead to three points.

Litšepe Marabe scored his 14^th goal of the season and take Bantu to 36 points.

Log-leaders Lioli were held to a 1-1 draw by LCS at Setsoto Stadium, also on Sunday.

Jerry Kamele put the Teyateyaneng-based pacesetters ahead before fourth-placed Masheshena replied through Refiloe Mothae.

Third-placed LDF also collected three points to remain in the title race after beating eighth-placed Linare 2-1at Ratjomose Barracks.

Thabo Phera and Mokoenanyana Moahloli were on target for the army side while Linare’s consolation was an own goal by an LDF defender.

Mphatlalatsane and Nyenye Rovers drew 1-1in a St Monica’s derby also on Sunday, while Matlama and Likhopo also shared the spoils in a Maseru derby on Saturday.

Phafa Tšosane struck for Tse Putsoa in the first half from the penalty spot, but Likhopo clawed back through another spot-kick expertly taken by Bokang ‘Lefty’ Mothoana.

Qoaling Highlanders’ woes continued on Saturday as they missed a penalty before conceding two goals to lose 0-2 against Kick4Life at Pitso Ground.

Struggling LMPS suffered their 11^th defeat of the campaign as they went down 1-0 at home to league rookies Likila United.

The impressive Likila are now sixth on the 14-team Vodacom Premier League table and are playing with such confidence a top-eight finish is possible in their first season in the big time.

Highlanders continue to anchor the table while LMPS are second from the bottom, with 10 matches to go before the end of the season.
