SOUTH African House DJs, Nastee Nev and Lady PK will entertain patrons at Ba. One restaurant at Maseru Mall in a celebration of the Deep House sound on February 25.

It will be the duo’s first appearance at Ba. One where they will feature alongside local acts such as Tshepzadj, Black Bee, Khotso, El A’sla and Lym.

Speaking to the Weekender this week, Steven “Mugabe” Mhike, a representative of the organisers said they had lined up the duo alongside some of the country’s foremost exponents of deep House to celebrate the genre.

“This is the first time we are hosting the two deep House DJs who are well-known for belting out deep house tunes and this is because our event is aimed at appreciating the genre,” Mhike said, adding, “the local contingent that has been billed for the show are also among the best in the country and we tried to balance the line up by incorporating female disc spinners as well”.

Mhike said since its inception, Ba. One has stayed true to deep House music and managed to win an exclusive clientele in the process

“We are not saying commercial House is bad but we chose to offer deep House because it creates a chilled and fun environment.

“Since we started operating, our customers have learnt that we offer the best soulful deep house and that is what they always get,” he said.

Nastee Nev is no stranger to the country having been here in 2014 and he has remained a favourite among House enthusiasts.

He shot to fame with his 2013 offering, 0808 Sweetsoul under Vinny Da Vinci’s House Afrika Records, which won the Best Dance Album award at the 14th Metro Awards in 2014. He is popular for club anthems such as Joy, Hung Up On You and Show Me among others.

It will be the first time in Lesotho for Lady PK but she is one of the sought-after Deep House disc spinners in South Africa.

Her passion for music was highly influenced by her brother Thabo (Dj Stigga) with whom she jointly owns a DJ agency, Family Thing Entertainment.

Lady PK has played at more than 50 clubs in South Africa and shared the stage with prominent DJs such as Kanunu, China, Ralf Gum, Christos, Positive K, Clive Bean, Nastee Nev, 2lani ‘The Warrior’ and Vinny Da Vinci.
