A LOCAL fleet management company, Bashoeshoe Pele has added ICAP Lesotho, a health-related non-governmental organisation to its growing clientele base.

Bashoeshoe was established in 2015 by locals who had spotted an opportunity to provide transport and associated services which are often provided by foreign companies.

As a result of their agreement which came into effect on 14 November this year, the company now supplies 60 vehicles to ICAP Lesotho, who have become the latest addition to a client base that includes a number of government ministries like Gender; Home Affairs; Foreign Affairs; Law and Justice; Tourism; and Development Planning.

Clients from civil society organisations include Population Services International (PSI), Lesotho Planned Parenthood Association, University Research Co. (URC), as well as sports associations and private companies like LSP Construction.

Bashoeshoe’s Managing Director, Poppie Mandonsela told the Lesotho Times the ICAP Lesotho deal was another step in the right direction for the company.

“When we started this company, we had a dream of empowering Basotho and improving their lives,” Ms Madonsela said, adding, “So, welcoming yet another client means that we are slowly fulfilling that passion”.

She said the fact that a local company had been entrusted with the task of supplying vehicles over a foreign-based one meant that money would remain in the country to improve the lives of Basotho.

Ms Madonsela said in the short space of time since its inception, the company had made huge strides in penetrating the public, private and civic society vehicle rental market and they were counting on the support of Basotho for continued growth.

“We have changed lives of many Basotho in the short period we have been in operation.

The people we hire vehicles from, the drivers and our employees are immediate beneficiaries but there is also a wider multiplier effect where other supporting entities benefit,” she said.

The company is also passionate about people living with disabilities and is focusing its corporate social responsibility efforts on improving their lives.

“We are organising a fundraising fun walk for January towards helping people with disabilities because we want them to enjoy quality life like everyone else and not be hidden indoors and neglected,” she said.

Bashoeshoe Pele offers a wide range of vehicle and plant hire services pooled from ordinary Basotho from all corners of the country regardless of social status, political and religious affiliations.

The vehicles include sedans, bakkies, mini-buses, sprinters, trucks, motor bikes and different types of plant machinery.

The company also provides school transport, chauffeur as well as tour operating among other services.

Currently, the company has pool of about 1 000 vehicles which are insured with passenger and third party liability. The vehicles are also under vehicle tracking system for 24 hours surveillance. The company can deliver to a client within 24 hours and they also boast of a rapid response system to problems their vehicles may encounter during service.
