HIP Hop and apparel group Black Affluence will host another instalment of their sought after parties at Times Café on 2 July 2016.
Dubbed “The Blackout”, the show will consist of musical performances by Black Affluence DJs and showcasing of their apparel products such as t-shirts and hoodies.
The eight-member group was launched in 2012 and has since been holding various events over the course of the year such as “Re-Up”, “Wrap Up”, “Blow Up” and “The Takeover”.
Black Affluence’s Katz Lee told the Weekender this week revelers can expect a bigger and better party than last year. He said they continued to hold the parties due to public demand.
“When we held the ‘Wrap Up’ last July, we thought it would be our last show, but because of the support people showed we decided to continue,” he said.
“We conduct a post mortem of every show we host to assess our successes and failures so that we can improve. There is always room for improvement, so revelers should expect a better show.”
Katz Lee said they would not feature any artists in keeping with their usual approach.
“Last year, we featured DJ PH from South Africa for the first time. However, we will not be including anyone this time as we don’t want to lose the essence of our shows. It is still uncertain if we will host more artists in future. Only time will tell.”
