MASERU — Popular United States’ based musical group, The Bob Livingston Trio, is expected to set Maseru on fire when they perform at the Alliance Francaise tomorrow.
The country musicians, who were proclaimed music ambassadors by the city of Austin, in Texas in the US, arrived in Lesotho on Tuesday to perform two free public open concerts.
The band was expected to perform at the Lesotho Sun Convention Centre last night.
Tomorrow, they will stage yet another free show at the Alliance Francaise in Maseru.
The show begins at 6pm and will run until 8pm.
A spokesperson for the US embassy in Maseru, Ma-Lord Mefane, told the Weekender that the band’s concerts were free of charge because the tour is sponsored by the US department of state.
“They are performing for free because the tour is being sponsored by the US department of state,” she said.
“This is why they are being hosted by the US Embassy.”
The band is also scheduled to visit schools, entertain children with their songs as well as share the history of country music with the students during their stay.
The Bob Livingston Trio is also set to tour three other African countries — Namibia, Malawi and Rwanda.
The group was expected to visit Machabeng College yesterday to share the history of country music with the students.
The band is expected to leave the country on Saturday.
