MASERU — A 47-year-old Chinese businesswoman was allegedly robbed of M40 000 and airtime vouchers worth M1 700 last week in Ha Hoohlo.

According to a police report the suspected robbers gained entry through the back window at the victim’s warehouse.

Police spokesperson Thato Ramarikhoane said the victim reported that she heard the back window breaking.

“The unknown robbers broke the back window and went through the warehouse. They stole money, a laptop, airtime and a school bag from the warehouse.

“The suspects fled after stealing and no one saw them. They left a toy gun that is similar to 9 mm firearm in the toilet. Their plan was to scare people with it but when they found that there was only one person in the warehouse they abandoned the toy gun,” he said.

Police are still investigations the case.

In a separate incident a 37-year-old Chinese businesswoman was robbed of M47 000 at her home last week.

According to police the victim was on her way to her house with her guard when two men emerged.

The suspects ordered the woman to come with them to her house while the guard was left in the car tied with shoelaces.

The suspects fled after stealing the money.

The guard then screamed for help after they had left.
