MASERU — A Mosotho brewing expert has been appointed to head the Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) to help improve the quality of beer produced by the company.

Gabriel Pitso will move to Tanzania this week to manage the TBL brewing department.

Pitso is the first Maluti Mountain Brewery (MMB) employee to be chosen to head a department in another country.

He is a member of the inte national taste panel in all the SABMiller groups across the world.

Pitso, a former brewing manager of the (MMB), was appointed by the SABMiller management to lead the TBL because of his successes as the brewing manager at MMB.

TBL and MMB are both groups under SABMiller.

“I was handpicked by the SABMiller management based on performance.

“I have been appointed to help improve the production and quality of their beer.

“TBL has enough people but they are not able to achieve the expected production requirements,” a proud Pitso said.

MMB achievements include winning the best Castle award in Africa in 2008 and 2010.

In 2009 MMB won the award for Best Castle Milkstout ever produced by the SABMiller group.
