METROPOLITAN Lesotho has intensified the establishment of branches across the country as part of the insurance giant’s 50th anniversary commemorations.
The diversified insurance services provider opened a new branch in Qacha’s Nek last week, which is the seventh district under its ambit.
According to Metropolitan Lesotho Managing Director, Nkau Matete, branches will soon be established in the districts of Mohale’s Hoek and Thaba-Tseka.
Since its founding in 1967, the firm has evolved from merely providing funeral and burial policies to offering wide variety of life insurance products.
Among Metropolitan Lesotho’s services are Life Insurance, Funeral Cover, Investments and Savings, Retirement Solutions and Healthcare solutions.
In his remarks during the launch ceremony, Mr Matete said the Qacha’s Nek branch was also opened to reduce the distance the firm’s customers had to traverse to access its services.
He said customers in Qacha’s Nek had to travel as far as Quthing to access Metropolitan Lesotho’s services thereby incurring extra transport costs.
Metropolitan Lesotho Brand and Marketing Manager, Tšokolo Makeka, indicated that they were opening new branches to be more accessible to customers.
“As part of our 50-year anniversary commemorations, we are establishing branches across the country to bring services to the people,” he said.
“We also hope to attract new clients such as young people to advise them about the virtues of investing for their future. People need to be smart in managing their finances and to know that anything can happen at any time.”
Mr Makeka said Metropolitan Lesotho had stood the test of time and should be the insurer of choice for Basotho.
“Basotho should know that Metropolitan has been with them for the past 50 years.
“We have been here and we are still here. We are here to listen, we don’t just want to give them what we have, but we are here to give them what they need.”
