LESOTHO Defence Force (LDF) and Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) currently lead the Vodacom Premier League standings with seven points apiece—three matches into the 2014/15 football season.

LDF, who were held to a one-all draw by Nyenye Rovers in their first match of the season, have since registered two back-to-back wins against Matlama and Mphatlatsane, while LCS’s winning streak was brought to an end by Sundawana FC last Saturday after their match ended goalless .

The weekend matches also saw Matlama and Kick4Life clinching their first victories of the season.

Matlama beat struggling Linare 2-0, while Kick4life edged fellow Premier League newcomers Likila United 1-0, for both sides’ first set of full points in three matches.

Linare, who were among the best clubs in the country during the 2013/14 football season, have been very disappointing in the new campaign, suffering two consecutive defeats since their narrow 1-0 win over Qoaling Highlanders in their first match.

On the other hand, Likila United have been the surprise package of the new season so far, beating Likhopo and Linare in their first two matches of topflight football, but could not get past Kick4Life at the weekend.

And to rub salt into the wound, the Butha-Buthe-based side was involved in an accident on their way home after the defeat.

According to the club’s Public Relations Officer, Khabo Phahlake, none of the players was injured in the crash.

Meanwhile, defending league champions, Bantu, Lioli and Likhopo were not in action last weekend, as they all had three players in the national team, which suffered a 0-2 loss to Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou, in their opening group stage match of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
