SCRIPTWRITER and former Vodacom Superstar talent search presenter, Relebohile “MSLRELO” Mosola, says he is working on a film that explores the social impact of youth unemployment in Lesotho.

According to MSLRELO, he will partner Braykthru Media owner, Benedict “Benny B” Mokhatla in making the 120 minute film which will be shot by the latter’s Cloud9 Productions.

MSLRELO was a scriptwriter for the radio drama series, S’moko Feela, while Benny B has directed commercial videos and music videos among others.

Titled Okapi, the film is set to shine a spotlight on the vices some youths engage in after failing to find employment. MSLRELO said the film will delve in the world of drug trafficking, robbery and other acts of criminality.

“We have a lot of youths who are unable to find jobs after graduating and have resorted to forming groups known as Mabaeda which engage in criminality,” MSLRELO told the Weekender this week.

“The criminal acts they commit are meant to sustain a flashy life of expensive clothes, cars, women and alcohol consumption.”

He said the film would be shot in Maseru, Maputsoe and Butha-Buthe.
