TIME seemed to freeze on Saturday evening while the events appeared to have been plucked out of a romantic bestseller novel.

The setting was the Victoria Hotel Beer Garden and the occasion was the Royalty Fashion Experience where designer Limpho Sekhoahla, the founder of the Bajinity Edition was wrapping up her exhibition as the last designer for the night.

She however, got the shock of her life when her boyfriend, Lebajoa Tjantji, went down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

While the audience screamed, Limpho was awestruck and tears rolled down her cheeks.

The designer this week told the Weekender that while she was happy, she was also shocked.

“I was so shocked and happy at the same time because a proposal was the last thing on my mind because we had even had a minor disagreement earlier on the day,” Limpho said.

The two fell in love three year ago but the fiancé had earlier proposed love to her on social media and was turned down.

She however, opened her heart for him three years ago and it has been a blissful romance since then.

The two are the founders of the Bajinity Edition and have been showcasing in various fashion shows including the Lesotho Fashion Week under the Limkokwing umbrella and Sotho Winter Fashion Week.

Bajinity showcased alongside other designs such as Rosemo, Avant Cee Elle, Cograbig and Nazito Couture.

The first edition of the Royalty Fashion experience was hosted by Tgee Modelling Agency.

It was themed “Royal Wear” where designers showcased various designs for special occasions suitable for the presence of the royal family.

The organisers say the Royalty Fashion Experience was inspired by Britain’s and African’s most fashion cognisant monarchs.

This fashion show featured designs with a dash of royalty couture and class.

“Fashion has long had an affair with royalty, making “Royals Wear” a theme of inspiration, thus, the fashion show intends to give Basotho a glimpse into the little-known-world of royalty,” Thato Fonya, the director of Tgee Modelling Agency said.

He said they were overwhelmed to see the design couple get engaged adding that the act would forever make the first show memorable.
