A Night with the King coming soon

nnennaBy Mohalenyane Pakela

MASERU — Internationally acclaimed American singer, songwriter, composer and arranger, Nnenna Freelon, is billed to serenade the King and his guests at Maseru Sun Cabanas on December 20.

The show, dubbed A Night with the King, will see the six-time Grammy award nominee perform for King Letsie III, his distinguished guests and other Jazz lovers.

The gala dinner concert is a fund-raising event intended to raise money for the refurbishment of Scott Hospital where the King was born.

Born in Massachusetts 59 years ago, Nnenna has made a name for herself, performing alongside the likes of Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and Anita Baker.

Her voice and stagecraft are described as those that mesmerise the audience’s attention.

Inspired by legendary Stevie Wonder, her music has class without any imitations or clichés.

Her band on that note simply adjusts to her voice to give the music a softer, smooth touch, providing a cohesive harmony.

The charity event is organised by Standard Lesotho Bank, Metropolitan Lesotho, Lets’eng Diamonds and LNDC.
